We need Your Help

You can help the McFarland Food Pantry in a variety of ways.

1. Donate Food

What does the pantry need? A question the pantry staff and volunteers are asked often. Personal essentials are non-food items that are in demand. Linking food assistance to good nutrition is a national trend and our pantry is looking to do the same. Guests that are diabetic, require low sodium or low-fat foods currently have a limited choice. Here are a few options to consider:
  • Kleenex / Facial Tissue
  • Paper Towels
  • Bar soap
  • Shampoo
  • Laundry Soap
  • Canned Meals
  • Tuna or Peanut Butter
  • Nutritious meals
  • Healthy Soups
  • Low Salt Foods
  • Low Sugar Foods
  • Fat-Free Foods

All food must be un-opened and sealed in the original package. "Out of Condition" i.e. dented, rusted, leaking products cannot be accepted. All food items are checked for expiration dates.

4. Securities Donations Only

Community members have asked about making donations of securities, usually stocks or bonds, to the Food Pantry. There are several advantages to the donor for this type of gift, and, of course, there is significant value to the Food Pantry in receiving a gift. Please contact Joe Meuting, Financial Advisor at Edward Jones. Joe can be reached at 838-7666 or joe.meuting@edwardjones.com.
